I have been reading this post and I am trying to fix this plug. When you refer to the machined end face down and the snapring end up, can you clarify that exact position?
Thanks

This is a pic of the rear of the HPOP.
You can see the snap ring holding the rear plate.
The other end is the "machined face". The end
that faces the front cover where the drive gear mounts.

I take it the part number is for a kit from International.
I did it on a 2002 about a year ago. No problems since.

I believe KCM Diesel sells the correct O ring so you don't have to buy the IH kit.

Thanks Payson,
So, if I put the hpop in a vice in the exact position as pictured with the snap ring up, I can remove that plug with no problems?

As long as you follow the instructions you should be OK. Be careful you do not strip out the threads

As long as you follow the instructions and don't strip the threads or loose the check ball.

Edit: Double post - oops.

Okay guys, I bit the bullet and took it all apart. I have the hpop off and I am ready to rework that "unserviceable Plug". I was told there was no way to put new o-rings in that plug while the hpop is still in the truck because (when the plug is removed) the ball will fall out in the position that it is in the truck. Once the ball falls out, no guarantees! Can anyone tell me the torque specs on the bolts that hold the oil resevoir down. I will be replacing all of the o-rings in the hpop and fuel lines. Do you recommend replacing the rubber seal/filter at the base of the oil resevoir. Thanks for all of your help. I have photos for anyone that is attempting this project.

Here are instructions (LINK) from DieselSite for installing an Adrenaline HPOP. Torque specs included for HPOP reservoir and mounting bolts. 18 lb/ft for both.

Drive gear is 95 lb/ft but when I tried to get it to that torque the engine would turn over. Bob Riley at Dieselsite said if that happens it is tight enough. The rotation of the gear is such that it won't loosen.

Put the truck back together this weekend, changed the oil and all of the filters. Also changed all of the o-rings in the fuel bowl (very easy with it out of the truck) and fuel lines and oil lines. No leaks up front by the hpop- great. However, I still have a very small drip underneath the rear side of the block - Murphy is at work again. The oil leak seems to dark to be the fresh oil that I just put in. ???
Thanks all for your help - the major oil leak is fixed, so at least I can drive it. You guys are great thanks alot. If anyone needs any help on this hpop project - I can assist.
Who do I ask about a power seat not working?

Let me know
Mark

Glad you had a successful HPOP R&R.

That dark oil leak may be residual from the leak you just fixed. Let's hope so.

As far as the seat start with the fuses. Then the switches. If you have to, remove the seat and wire it up to some 12 volt power and you can see what's going on.
