Serpentine belt replacement

What is the best way to take the tension of the tensioner on my 04 explorer to replace the serpentine belt?

15 mil socket on a 3/8 drive if it is anything like my 98. I have to get to mine from underneath the truck.

Make sure you swing it the right way. There should be a sticker under the hood with a diagram on it.

I've just bought a 18 in long 3/8 square breaker bar for just this purpose. It fits in the 3/8 square hole in the tensioner arm just above the tensioner pulley. Made for the job!
