Question $$$$$

Hello guys i am in the processs of getting my trans rebuilt with a triple disk torque converter with a billet cover and the trans will hold 450rwhp all day long. He is going to charge me $3400. i was just wondering if that is just rediclous or a pretty good deal the trans does come with a 2 year 30,000 mile warranty as long as the chip doesnt mess with it. Does tony wildman chips mess with the trans and if they do could you just ask them to not add that to it?

Your gettin fugged! first off, any chip mods the tranny shifts, and performance of it. So to answer your question yes it does mod the trans patterns, but in a good way. If he's gonna build it for 450hp, where does he think your gonna make that much power without a chip? lol, tell him to pound a dirt mound. You should spend the extra couple hundred bucks for a built trans from Suncoast, ATS, BTS, NADP, DDP, etc.,

I think your getting a pretty good deal. Chips can be burned to not modify anything with the trans. Thats why DP-tuner wants to know if you have a BTS valve body installed because then he leave the VB to do the work rather than the chip. a 450hp trans for 3500 seems like a pretty average if not below average price and the warrantee is pretty standard.

Price to me, for what I know, sounds average. If you get a TW chip just tell him what you have and what you want. He can customize it for whatever your needs are.

That a fair price but what kind of parts is he installing. Where is he getting the converter from? Is he installing shift kit? little things you got to ask. You should add a new trans cooler.

Here's a good site w/picts, that will show you some parts that are needed for a performance rebuild. I hope you're getting a new 6 pinion steel forward planet gear. Yours was aluminum IIRC.

I got quoted $4k for a BTS trans when I blew mine apart. Honestly you shouldn't have to think twice about spending a couple hundred bucks more for a true built trans. IMO
