Anyone know where to rent a M'cycle trailer in the Upstate?
Anyone know some place in the upstate where I could rent a (open or enclosed) motorcycle trailer? According to the yellowpages... there is "Southern Sales" up in TR that will rent car haulers/util. trailers/hyd. dump trailers... but they don't specifically mention motorcycle trailers.
While I give these guys a call monday... does anyone know of another company that will rent m'cycle trailers? Preferbly nationwide... Knowing that If I rent here I'll have to go down to FL empty to pick up. I'd muchhh rather go down w/out and pickup the trailer (and bike) and drop it off here somewhere. Uhaul doesn't seem to list one even though I thought I remember seeing one at a uhaul dealer a few months back...
On EDIT: upon closing my other window w/the uhaul page open...I notice this at the very bottom: http://www.uhaul.com/guide/index.aspx?equipment=towing-motorcycle

I'd rather not do this... If I had a guest riding w/me and or helping me load/unload I'd consider it...
The trailer would keep me a bit closer to the ground (less fear of falling 2-3ft w/the bike)
I'm a bit skiddish on wheeling up a $8k bike on the bed of my truck.....
....I had this down as a "Plan C" if the trailer doesn't pan out.
Fwiw... a good friend of mine has built a Fixture that fits in a 5x10/6x12 uhaul open/enclosed trailer that is made to retain a bike. So I could maybe throw this fixture in the bed of the truck for the trip down then p/u a trailer when I get there; then put the fixture and bike on/in the trailer... *Plan-B*??
