does anyone have any pics of there 460/429 just before you installed it?

I just wanna see how other poeples motors look and how they have stuff mounted and done.

What are you putting it in ? 77.5-79 f-250 4x4's are a real pain to get set up.

Its going in a 78 bronco.


thats an impressive motor you got monster.
If you want you can give it to me, so its out of your way and you can build that bigger one you have been thinking about.

I don't know for sure about a Bronco but there could be the same crossmember in there that gave me trouble with the alt. I see some people mount them upside down but I'm not sure just how. I have never came across a set up like that and it looks like you would have to run the alt off both the water pump & the crank pully & it would be awful close to the motor if you had to use the first pully groove. Then the power steering bracket would have to be shimmed out to get the belt in the outer pully groove. Then the wiring would have to be lengthened too so I just made my own. Things might have been different if I had used the small alt. Any power steering bracket should work, you don't have the steering box right there to deal with.

Its going in thair, if i have to make new brackets to hold every thing. lol
actually it should just fit right in. I just wanted to see other peoples setups.

I don't think the broncos have the problem with the alt. I know the F-150's don't and a bronco should be the same.

well do to the fact I don't have a water pump pulley and I don't run a ford alt I had to build my own brackets.

guys i know ur pain i cramed a 74 tbird 460 and a econoline spicer c6 in my 72f100 lol lotta nice lil mods to get thigns to fit. i still gotta get aorudn to shiming my powerstearing bracket. i got my power stearing runign off the water pump and crank pullys and the alt runign off the crank. i got alot of good pics on my car domain site if u need anymore reffs. its www.cardomain.com/id/reddeath1. and i lvoe ur sig monster

If you can't shove a big block in it, then why bother having it. (so true i live by that one everyoen told me i couldnt get the 60 cramed in the ol f100. trys to fold it inhalf though lol)
If it's not broke modify it until it is.
