At times it sounded sort of like a percolator/coolant system gurgle. Sometimes just a tapping noise like the blend door was lightly slapping against the duct or similar. The only temperature issue I noticed (but did not experiement) was it staying really hot when I would adjust to 65F. Not sure what testing they did, but they guessed at the diagnosis just based on my description. Turned out they were right.

Wonder how they would take it if I said "just replace the darn Hot/Cold air accuator" and lets see what happens. I hate telling people how to do their job, but jeez this is getting stupid. However im sure ford has them locked in to the diagnose first before replacement crap....
Im pretty sure that what you were experiencing is the same as what im getting.

In the dash is all I know. Think in the middles section (L-R). Auto climate control.

Ford has them eating the cost of any parts they install without being specifically called for by a diagnostic or other order. It sucks, but I guess I can see where it could get out of control if they just let dealers install anything to keep the customer happy.

sorry to bring up an old issue here but I just noticed this noise...I have the single CD player and the "computer booting up" noise started a few weeks ago. I have no issues with my climate control system or anything else for that matter....it only makes the noise for a minute or so then stops

Well I thought the noise was normal. What it sounds like to me is the flap in the vent turning (rubbing) open or close (cold or hot). If you have auto climate on at say 20c thats with a/c on raise the temp to 25c you will here the noise as the flap moves. Thats what it sounds like to me.

Ok so the heater doesnt keep blowing out hot air to the point of it stupidity.

When I had my problem, of course it was winter, but anyway if I had the heater on say 68 it got to the point where the heater would just keep going to what felt like 95 degrees, then it would finally cool down until you were freezing your nads off.

nope the climate control is actually my favorite feature about the truck

so you had the "computer boot up noise" as someone else called it before your climate control went haywire?

Was the climate control issue and the dash noise two separate issues for you?

I also hear the door thunk but its only on certain bumps and I think that is just the fact that these frames are so stiff and the doors on the supercab are so heavy and lock up to the half door instead of a post and there is just so much weight on that one hinge

I don't think it is something to get too frustrated about even though I understand where you are coming from

When was your 07 built?

well I called it a percolating sound, one dealership told me it was normal. But at times you could hear it above the radio. Then I kept having the fluctuation in the temperature, dealership blew me off on that one too.
So I went to a different dealership, and the Mech hooked it up to a computer and it didnt show anything to him.
So the SM drove it for a while and called me while in the truck when it was acting up and wanted to know how to make it stop (this was in the middle of winter) I laughed and said to roll the window down and he says your kidding right..Nope. So he takes it back to the mech and says figure out what it is and fix it.
After they fixed the temperature problem then I never had that percolating sound happen again.

Built in June.
