Autoloc door openers

I have installed Dolphin Window lift kits in my 56, It was easy, just spend about 15 bucks at WM and get you some Angle brackets, nuts and bolts. Since it was so easy, I thought I would shave the door handles, install Bear Claws and door poppers.

What size popprs do I need? 35 or 50's?
Do i need large or small Bear claws?
how many channel's does a guy need for the remote opener?

I'm guessing 50 pound
Small Bear claws
4 channel remote

Anybody concouring?

Jeff,
I'll have to look tomorrow to see what i used on my '56. I thought I used autoloc stuff, i forgot already. I have 2 buttons, right door and left door. You dont really need door locks, the door can be slim jimmed just as easy with or without a lock.

I also didnt end up needing "poppers" as the solinoid releases the weatherstrip pops the door open about 1/2" and i can grab onto it. I was going to add poppers later if i needed them.

I installed the small bear claws in mine.. The large ones are just too much (double claw). get the install kit, cut the space for their bracket, weld it in, voila.. I have the original handles working the latches from the inside, and will have electronic pulls too. (remote controlled)..

I also didn't use poppers, as one of the benefits of the bear claw is the door must open a little for the latch to release.

If you decide to stick with the stock latches you can see pix of how I modified mine for remote locking in my "making changes" gallery. I would say you would want a 3 button remote: one for lock/unlock/alarm, one for each door latch. Some 3 button can be programmed for combo button functions as well. Do buy one with an alarm function, even if you don't use it as an alarm you can use it to flash the lights or toot the horn when you lock and unlock to verify you have locked it. If you have an automatic tranny you could use a remote that also allows you to remote start your truck.
