oil filter wrench 07 expedtion
Getting close to oil change time and looking at the filter it seem's that I have two little room to swing my filter wrench, was looking for a cup type filter wrench that fit's the end of the filter that you use a long ratchet extention in maybe 3/8's, but the one's at napa and auto are made for the octagon type,AC,fram, napa ect,not the motor craft type with the all the little ridge's on the end, what do you guy's use on your 2007 expedtion's,btw the dealer has removed the factory filter at another change.thank's.

I've got kind of the same problem, I can't remove the oil filter that a lube shop put on. What I'm going to do is buy a cup wrench that will fit the same filter that is currently on the Expedition, just to remove the crappy Fram filter. After this, only Motorcraft filters will go on. Eventhough Wal-Mart has the best price sells genuine Motorcraft filters and Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend oil, they don't sell a wrench that fits the Motorcraft filters. I ran into this same problem with my Toyota Camry, so I just took the Genuine Toyota oil filter into an auto parts shop and matched up to a proper filter wrench.
There is not a lot of room for channel locks, a strap wrench, or even an old style compression wrench.

To me, that hex makes the cost worthwhile. I'm tired of leaving my skin on the various sharp metal pieces so thoughtfully installed under there when trying to remove any other filter.
