Power loss

Hello,
I have a 99 F250 turbo Diesel. I've noticed that over the last couple of days while driving my truck, all of a sudden it loses power. It doesn’t die, it's as though it maybe starving for fuel. When I press on the accelerator it regains speed. It's been a year since I've changed the fuel filter. Any thoughts?

Wouldn't hurt to change the filter, but sounds like fuel pump. Maybe the screen in the tank is clogged up a bit.

Dirty fuel filter or strainer first drop the power under heavy load, while the engine might still run fine under low load.
