I put new o-rings and seals in the leaking pump on my '87. I'm not sure if there is a way to measure the internals for wear or not, but it seemed very similar to the other pump I have out of a '94. The re-seal kit was about $7 when I bought it from NAPA maybe a year ago and was pretty straight forward to install if you have a little mechanical ability. I think the trickiest parts of the job are removing the snap ring and reassembling the pump. Be sure to get or borrow a power steering pump pulley puller/installer tool.

Thanks I will see if anyone I know has that tool. I was hoping to be able to save some money with just buying the seals. Thanks again.

You should be able to rent a power steering pump pulley puller from an auto zone or any other local auto parts store that loans tools.

I second the AutoZone suggestion. They loan you the tool for a deposit ($30 on the PS pulley puller last time I used one), which is fully refunded when you return the tools.

I had a leak on a 91 F150 and fixed by removing the fill cap, cleaning around it, and putting it back on. I think the last person did not get it back on right. Take it on and off a few times to get the feel of it.

Good luck
