Welding turndowns?

Hi guys, i've scrapped the idea of open headers/cutouts/straight pipes etc. but know i am wondering if i can gas weld 2 turndowns to my exaust, i know im gonna have to grind to get a good weld, but will a gas weld hold it on their? They will go on right after the mufflers and then a hanger then the turndowns, so not so much vibration as it would be for just hanging. Also, im pointing them outwards "passenger side" so they hit the ground and dont get trapped under the bed like previous post have mentioned "i dont feel like dieng in my ol' truck LOL" Is that also a good way? I have come to notice that this will make my truck louder, which is what i want and still stay legel. Also, i know none of my threads i type really have flow and make since, so bear with me. LOL

Thanks
Taylor

No problem with you gas welding, that was how exhausts were done in the 70's. Get those turn downs away from under the truck to prevent the body becoming a drum and droning on you unless your mad at yourself. Angle them down at a 45 degree angle maximum or less and away from the body. Use good rubber hangers to prevent vibration problems and take note the exhaust will grow in length as the pipe gets hot from expansion.

I dont think i need new hangers because were im adding them their is a hanger bout 2 inches from their, this is how it goes, muffler end, hanger, turndown. One quick question, how do i measure my diameter with the exaust still on the truck??
