More TQ

What is a good setup to get more TQ out of a stock 300? I was thinking:

intake headers and new carb.

what brands work the best? and what trpy of each like brand and style.

That is a good start. I bought my truck with the engine built, but here's what it has: offy C series, motorcraft 1.08 carb, headers and dual 2.5" exhaust with turbo mufflers

Almost anything will help over stock. I don't really know that much about performance mods, just what is on my truck. My personal experience is that I like my 2bbl better than the old holley 4bbl. It was finicky to tune. Just keep that in mind before you spend a bunch of money.

As far as I know the intake is designed towards hight torque and the smallish valves also contibute to higher torque. I think you could boost torque by installing an RV camshaft. Check it out with the camshaft companies and see what to expect. Maybe worth it, maybe not.

Wouldn't it be the case that a big boost in low end torque would also come with a reduction in rpm for peak horsepower. I.e, wouldn't you basically lowere the powerband in the rpm range.

Make a tractor out of that baby!
