FX2 Wheels

I'm buying a new 07 Expedition next week. I bought some 07 F-150 "FX2" wheels to go on it. The dealership tried to put them on today, but told me when they put the first one on, it was rubbing the caliper, and wouldn't work. I had a set of "FX4" wheels on an 03 Expedition that I had, and there weren't any problems. Has anyone put these wheels on their Expedition?

Yes, the FX2 wheels are 18". They are (were) mounting them on the factory tires. The tech said they put one of the rims on the hub (didn't say they bolted it on), found that it was rubbing the caliper clip, so they didn't mount them on the tires.

I don't see why they wouldn't fit....put the wheel on yourself and see...I have seen many adds saying that F-150 (6-lug) wheels fit the expeditions with 6 lugs.

I have heard that the 07 and 08 expeditions have larger brakes than the previous models, so an 07 f 150 is going to have the same older brake style as the 03-06 expeditions. When the redesigned 150 comes out, those should be the same as the expeditions, I would think.

Which part of the wheel is it rubbing? Is the back spacing different? And 18" wheel should fit if the back spacing is good (not touching the caliper) ....I would think.

Thanks for all of the responses. I'm supposed to pick it up Thursday, with the factory wheels on it. When I get it home, I'm going to bolt one of the FX2 wheels on atleast two hubs and see if rubs. If rubs on more than one hub, I've got some 1/4" spacers on the way that should solve the problem. I've never used them, but the tech that told me the wheel was rubbing recommended that I get them if I really wanted those rims on it. If it only rubs on one, it'll be goin back to the service department for them to get it lined up like the rest of'm.
