Exclamation please help tranny problem

i have a 95 spd, with a brand new bts e40d with less than 1000 miles on it. my tranny is flashing the code p1748 which is epc malfunction. i have replaced the solenoid pack, the map sensor, the pcm, the gas pedal, and have check continuity of the wires for the epc and all the wiring is good. no shorts or breaks. and im still getting this code. line pressure in the tranny jumps up and down erratically.

call bts, 2 year unlimited miles?, if your 100% sure there is no wire problem then you may have a bad seal internally

me and brian have been trying to fix this for about 3 weeks now,i dont belive its the tranny. when you say a bad seal internally, i dont think thats the culprit. the pressure is controlled electronically via pcm. i believe there is a input sensor somewhere that is causing this. but im not 100% sure. i just wanna do all my homework before i yank the tranny out of it. ya know?

What does BTS say about this? I am curious because they have a pretty solid reputation from what I hear. What c00nhunterjoe may have meant is that a bad seal could prevent the PCM from being able to control the line pressure. If the PCM sends the signal out and the pressure does not respond due to a seal problem it should generate a code. Does the pressure jump get worse in any certain condition or is it completely erratic? What kind of mods do you have on the truck?

brian at bts has gone out of his way a couple times. we have figured out the problem is not in the tranny. but somewhere else. it dosen't matter how im driving the truck, the pressure still jumps really crazy. me and brian are stumped on this and we are doing everything we can to fix it. any more input will be appreciated

bobadan is correct im what i meant.
i am confused, you said that everything that controls epc has been replaced and the wires are definatly 100% good, if that is correct then you are left with a bad transmission, but now if you are 100% sure that there is no trans problem then you must have an electircal problem, my advice is this, if bts said the trans is definatly not the problem then you must have an intermittant siganl problem from the pcm to the solonoid pack, unplug the main control harness that goes to the solonoid pack(the big one on the pass side of the trans) that will default your epc and limit you to 3rd gear only. no pcm or electrical input can screw with it now. hook up a pressure gauge to teh trans and read what it is, dont romp the throtle due to only having 3rd but drive it and see if it still bounces all over the place, if it does then you know the trans is bad, if it is steady then you know you have a wiring problem. you really need ford's electronic transmission tester, it hooks up inline to the solonoid pack and you can control epc manually and control the valve body and torque converter, it is crucial to have for problems like this

Joe, where can I get this tester? How much is it? Is this something a shadetree mechanic, like myself, can use? How much training is needed to use it properly?
