how to tell if your engine is missing / crossfire?

i changed my spark plugs a while back, but with all of the plug wire talk and people having problems...how do i know if i have a problem?

everything seems to run great. would i notice it missing or having crossfire across wires? i routed them the best i could, but would i hear or feel if something was wrong or would it involve hooking up some test equipment to find out?

sorry to be a noob, i'm just curious how i would know if i did something wrong.

this is on the 460 in your signature I presume? Follow the routing diagram on the truck if it has one. My 94 Bronco with a 302 has one and yes if you get the wires routed incorrectly you will notice that it doesn't run correctly.

My 302 will ping or knock under a load if I have crossfire between the plug wires. Not sure if the 460 would have the same problem. It has to do with the firing order and how close those cylinders are to one another.

of course you would feel it if it was misfiring.
