2008 F-150s last model for this generation?

I was wondering if 2008 were the last year for this generation of F-150. Are 2009 F-150s a new generation, or is it getting a facelift? I only ask because it will be a 5 year mark. I usually buy 2nd year of new generations because it takes them about a year to work out major kinks...And I want to start saving up!

I THINK it is moving to the expy platform. It will definitely get a facelift and definetly new drivetrain options though. Recent Ford launches have been pretty flawless though.

OK.I have been out of the loop for a while.. Havn't been able to check back here lately due to start of my business. Just wanted to make sure that I have something to save up for. I can't believe a new generation is already coming out...time flies!

I don't know if you seen what Ford did when they introduced the 2008 Super Dutys. My personal opinion is: those are the kind of changes we will see when they introduce the 2009 F-150. There will be some major changes - Front clip, Interior, power train, and other Misc. mechanical & cosmetic changes. But the structure of the Cab and box will remain mostly unchanged for example.

Can't wait to see how right or wrong I am.

I'd like to see more powertrain / engine options but I really hope they don't change the body style to much, not sure I like that new 3 bar chrome grille front like on the expedition.

I think they are going to be minor changes with the exception of them bringing back the Harley Davidson F-150...Supposedly it will be a 5.4 with 450 horse power and 500 pounds of torque. Same frame... same doors...different Grill..it may have a six speed automatic from what I've read.
I think 2009 is supposed to be the big change.
