Question Jaguar Wheel Alternatives

Now I've located the IFS/IRS from a 82 Jag and I'm going to pull them off over the coming weekend. They wanted to sell me the wheels and tires for an additional $200. That's way to much for me to drop on something to move the truck in and out of my garage. I know that the jags use 5 on 4 3/4 pattern but my question is if there is a cheep alternative with this bolt pattern that I can use. I'm thinking I could pick up something from a junk yard or Craigs List for way less than what they want. I don't care about what it looks like since it will only be used while I'm working on the truck.

What vehicles should I be looking for to find some wheels that will work on the 82 Jag XJ6 Suspension??

Thanks!

The Jag bolt pattern is actually 5/120mm, which is 5/4.73. Close enough. 5/4.75 is a common GM bolt pattern, used on Nova's, Camaro's, Corvette's and plenty of others. For mock up, I currently have Chevy s10 wheels on my Jag front end. I had to enlarge the center hole as the Jag hub is larger than the s10, but that won't be a problem with custom wheels.

Thanks for the response.

I'm not ready for custom wheels yet and I only need something for mock up also. I just think $200 for wheels that I don't really want is way to much. I searched this site and the internet but didn't find much about what kind of wheels would fit so this gives me something to look for and I'm sure it will be much cheeper.

5x120 is a popular size pattern on many imports as well. Try Tire Rack's web site I believe you can search on bolt pattern size to see what it fits. Unless aluminum or wire wheels I wouldn't pay more than 10.00 each for used wheels.

I will check to see what other vehicles will carry that size. This should make it a lot easier to locate some basic cheep wheels.

BMW's use a 5 x 120 BP, but some Chebby wheels would be the cheapest, just get a couple space savers out of the JY, the narrow hard tires would make it easier to move around.

I didn't go the temp spare route on mine, I scrounged some used tires and wheels that are the same size I'm going to use. This way I know what fits, and what looks right. Most tire stores will be happy to give you their junk tires so they don't have to pay to scrap them. A well placed six pack ought to get them mounted. If they charge much to do the work, shop around. Most of the shops I do business with will mount (not balance) project wheels for nothing or next to it, and will simply ask to sell you the good tires when the time comes.

Quick question: I found some rims from a 99 Camero on CL. I did some searching on the net and the bolt pattern is supposed to be 5 x 120.7 (not sure about the .7) . Will these fit on a 84 jag front and rear suspension?

They should fit the bolt pattern, but the center hub hole may need enlarging to clear, since these will be "roller" wheels, just clearance them with a die grinder if needed.

If they are tight on the studs, just drill out the stud holes one size larger the lug nuts will center them.
