Question Where is the SPOUT connector? E150 E-150 5.0 5.0L 302 94 1994

Can't find the SPOUT connector.

Haynes manual has photo of 93 or earlier. 94 and later is different.
Haynes manual only has a 'representative' wiring diagram.
Searched forums, faq, and articles here onford-trucks forum.

Where the heck is the SPOUT connector? What does it look like?

The Spout connector (Shorting bar) is on the driver’s side near the hood hinge. The photo is from an F-series but the Spout connector (Shorting bar) should look the same.

Question

Thanks. Big help. Found connector. But, worms.

We have an identical connector with two wires exiting the harness as per the photo you included.

There is no mate to this connector.

The Haynes manual sez that there is a 'special shorting bar' that must be removed to set the 'timing'.
This connector has no shorting bar.
The two wires are not connected.
With ignition ON, one of the two wires rises to positive battery potential. The other does nothing.

So am I missing a shorting bar and need to add one for the road
OR
do I apply one when setting the 'timing' and remove it for the road?
OR
???

Thanks.
-Bob

You take the shorting bar out to set the timing at 10* BTDC and then put the shorting bar back in so the computer can adjust the timing going down the road.
