No hitters and superstition

No hitters and superstition
So, the Red Sox rookie (2nd big league start) has a no-hitter through eight innings. The announcers are using every possible phrase to say he hasn't given up a hit except actually saying "no hitter".....
So, does anyone really believe the nonsense that by saying "he has a no-hitter going" that it is bad luck and will jinx him?
I'm not superstitious so I am going to say "He has a no-hitter going" and I think he will do it anyway.
But, in case I am wrong, where is my lucky coin?

I didn't see the game because there isn't much baseball that I get around here besides the Jays (and I don't really mind) but good for the kid.
As to the question, I partly believe in superstition. I will not say phrases that could jinx things, but as far as old socks and things like that, thats probably more of a comfort factor than anything. If the player gets a new piece of euipment he'll just have to break it in and it will be the same as before.
