!952 selinoid hookup

I purchased a new 6 volt selinoid for my 52 F1. It is the type that has a push button on the bottom. I hooked the lug marked battrey to ground (as it is positive ground). If I use the button on the bottom of the selinoid the motor turns over fine. If I use my push button start in the cab the selinoid "buzzes" and the engine turns very slow. Somthing is not right. Any comments ? Thanks, John

Have you checked to make sure you have good connection between the starter button and the solenoid? Is the button in the cab new also? You might have already checked these thing's, but If not it never hurts to look. Good Luck JOE

If it is a 6v solenoid, copy of OEM, the BAT terminal goes to the Negative terminal. In fact, even if it isn't an OEM type solenoid, that terminal goes to the Hot terminal on the battery. You have it hooked up backwards. The pushbutton pushes a bar across the terminals so it doesn't care.
