Watch out for cheap chinese pieces; I've heard of lots of failure and even smoke out of them. 6v pieces need to be rated for the higher current.
DC should be a better piece, but I wouldn't count on it.
I believe there is a difference between the '51 & '52 but can't confirm it. The early ones used a starter switch that grounded the wire from the solenoid (starter terminal on solenoid), but my '52 came to me with a 3-terminal solenoid that needs power to that terminal to crank. It appeared to be all original. I think '53-on used the style like mine so maybe they made a mid-year switch? Who knows. Check your starter switch to tell what you need, and order accordingly.
