[QUOTE=HOTSPOT;5144792]Got-R-Done boyz.
I purchased the VR3 Wireless Backup Camera from Wally World online, click on the picture.
So I stole your idea and bought the same camera, works perfect.
On first test I saw the strangest thing on the screen, my kids bunk beds? Seems that the camera for our baby monitor overrode the signal from the backup camera, scared me for a minute though. I used the license plate lights for the power to the camera, and stayed with the DC plug for the monitor, it mounted nicely on top of my brake controller. The camera came with a swivel mount, I so I didn't need to buy any new brackets, fit perfect, looks good, and makes backing up to the trailer a breeze. You can even change the picture orientation, so that when you turn the wheel right, it appears on the screen as right, so even my wife can do it now!!
I installed a 3way plug in the center console that I ran off one of the switched fuses in the fuse box. I hate having accessory power that stays on all the time, so I fixed that.
Thanks again for the idea, one of the best gadgets I have in the truck.

I would like to know if anyone has wired their VR3 so as to run it while driving as well as backing up. I had heard that the camera overheats with constant use (driving highway long distances, ie) but am waiting to hear from the manufacturer on that one. Any help greatly appreciated, as I am very novice at electrical connections, etc. thanks!

I have installed this unit from Costco for $79. Works fine. I tied it into the reverse light circuit and mounted the camera on the trailer hitch so I did not have to pull apart the tailgate. If you want more details - let me know.
