I've been running into a problem these last couple of days. If I put my foot down it pulls hard up to 3,100 RPM and justs stops accelerationg and makes a loud bogging/stuttering noise. Im trouble shooting that it could come to 2 problems. Poor Fuel Quality or my Fuel Filter is clogged and not letting enough Fuel through to the motor. Has anybody else had this problem?
2003...K&N Intake & Borla Cat-Back. Thats It's. Motor is bone stock.
Yesterday I was driving it and I was at a red light. Once it turned green I pinned the throttle, Ran really strong al the way up to 60MPH(no problems) As I was driving home I was merging into faster flowing traffic and hit pinned it again and started to bogg out on me after 3K-4K RPM. I mean it's not happening all the time. Sometimes it pulls like Hell then other times its like the Supercharger is slipping. Could it be my Belt/Pulley?
What mods do you have done? I've seen and had issues with a # of things myself each acting in the way you are describing. Your mod list would help me narrow it down.
It has 43,000 Miles. Engine Temp is Normal. If I just cruise around town under 2,500 RPM you can tell anything is wrong. But if I slowly apply 3/4 or full throttle it wont bog. It justs bog when I step on it. Im going to clean out my air filter tommorow to see if it helps.
Any other ideas?
Let me add some more info...."This truck has been baby'd since my dad bought it in '03. This truck rarley even went over 3,000 RPM." So its not driven like it was stolen.

First off I'd start with the simple stuff ie. spark plugs, fuel filter. At 43000 miles both are in need of changing anyway. If this doesn't cure it, I'd be looking into fuel issues. I'd check fuel pressure (should be around 39psi idle and 50ish WOT) and also, its common for the T on the fuel line at the tank to go bad causing this very sort of problem. It would be something to check. I've even seen one of the converters plugged up causing this very sort of thing although I'd say that its unlikely. Hope this helps, I know its a pain but maybe this will get you started.
what you are describing sounds like a COP going bad. I have had this happen 3 times. Truck runs great till about 3K or when getting into boost then the exhaust note changes and sounds like it is bogging down, let off the gas to get out of boost and it runs great. If your plugs look fine then I would look at the COPs next.

i am a non lightning owner but I here a lot of raves on the NGK's one degree colder I would doubt it is your belt slipping that would be more of a significant loss of power not a bog but if it is the origanal I would replace it. If it were me I would do a tune up on it plugs wires filter and oil I would even clean your Mass air sensor I hear of them getting dirty and cause a loss of power similar to the one you talked about. Then drive it and see if that helped (not like it would hurt to do this at 43,000 anyway) then I would look into the 2 or three fuel filters and that "T" in the tank. you should be fine from there if not I would have a diagnostic ran on it you might want to go ahead and replace the fuel pump (possibly go warbrol pump) while in the tank another couple of dollars and about 5 more minutes

I know a lot of DIRTY COPS but I doubt you are talking about a different kind of bad COP anyhow I have a carbs motor so I am not so understanding the COP what is that. If he would have told me the same thing with a Carb motor I would have told him to put a hose between the two vents on the carb anyhow want to know more about the fuel injected motors

COP = Coil On Plug, the L's will have 8 individual coil on plug, where as the old carb's only have one for all 8 cylinders.
