Accel Kool Blue air filters
exactly the same as a K & N only cheaper. I doubt it filters any better or worse. I bought one from jegs for 35.99 USD or so and dropped it in. I adjusted my timing at the same time and noticed a difference in pickup and maybe throttle response tought to tell. Haven't checked mileage yet.
It says it filters down to 2.8 microns, but I'll bet a wet peice of toilet paper would filter particles just as small. It filters them, but it doesn't filter all of them at that size.
The manufacturing quality of the filter seems very good overall. No problems.
One feature that I do like is that the gauze is actually white or light blue, but the oil is colored blue, so when you wash it and re-oil it you can check for good coverage with the oil and see where you've oiled and where you haven't. that's what the manual says anyway. I'll let you know in 50k miles whether that is true or not.
