Louisiana BBQ

As stated in other threads I am willing to hold a BBQ @ my house. I live outside of Crowville. It is located between Winnsboro and Delhi. I am about 20 min south of I 20. I have about 5 acres for parking on a small lake. I would like to do this on a weekend. I know this might be a little far for some of our South LA members to travel. I have space for campers but no hookups. If any one else has a place please speak up. I am just glad that this chapter is geeting more active.

Congralations Bilksiryder on your New Orleans west bank gettogether. I think that this is a good start.

Also FYI I live about 20 min. from the Catahoula Recreation in Sicily Island that I posted about previously. I am willing to go North or South for a meet if I am @ home.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Robert

We have room out at the farm in north Shreveport. There is plenty of parking and such. no hookups or anything of that nature though. There is electricity to the old house that's there and water (even hot water).
A 6 acre pond. that has pretty good fishing when I have time to get out there and do it.

I'll clear it with dad since he has his cows out there. But it shouldnt be an issue. It's reasonably close to Caddo lake and there are a few trails in the area for those with 4x4's. Also, there is the Bodcau dam out here near my house in north Bossier Parish. Lots of camping room (no hookups that I know of) and the fee is reasonable. Some killer 4x4 trails if it's been raining and good ones if it hasnt been. Plus, there is fishing and such around there as well.

But I have no problem coming to anywhere within half a days drive. I'm flexible. I just have to work around my classes (tues and thurs).

oh the ryder is still here just helping get my unit to iraq and putting a few hours to help make it as smooth as it can be. and i'm down for a bbq. i just don't know when i am going to have time. i just got my truck fixed ( $800) and my a/c in my house went out ( $500) and going to atl paying for a hotel and the marine corps has not payed me back for that yet ( $569) so i'm a little short on the green backs. and to top it all off my truck is going to need tires after i get back from ohio on the 12th.

What was wrong with your truck? How long have you been in the Marines? I have a friend that has been in three years.

these are some state parks that have large tent camping areas or dorm style areas(sleeps about 52 people). i picked these bc i could make it to these but the site has ones for the entire state if yall want to go further north.

State parks are reasonably cheap and easy to get to. If any members have campers (I do and the wife loves roughing it easy) its $16 a night. People who live close could day ride it. People who are a little further out, or like to drink as much as I do, don't have to worry about a motel or driving. Commital would be the only thing here as to get spots next to each other you must reserve with the first nights deposit. It sounds like several people have acess to acreage to host the get togethers. Which would be free, and who ever shows, shows. Either way, with the weather getting to where you can stand to be outside, now is the time to get active with non holiday weekend meets.

I agree with the state park idea. I can pull my camper wherever and my wife also likes roughing it easy.
