"Why", you say, do I ask? Well, I'd just like to know about how much gas is left when the low fuel light comes on, or rather, about how many miles can I drive.

I realize that everyone's fuel system may have individual differences in calibration and sensing, not to mention that the gauges are not likely to all indicate at the same magnitude. So, anyone who has practical experience in this issue, please advise.

Six cylinders only, please.

i have a 4.2 and once the low fuel light comes on i usually go about 20 miles but i have pushed it a few times to 30

 

Its always best not to push it. If you do start sucking air you can burn up the pump.
