im planning on trading my 99 250sd crew v10 auto in the next month.
im ordering a 2002 f350sd v10 with the 6 speed manual. other than my 99, ive always had manuals including the best manual trans ever , the borg-warner t-18 in my 1987 f350.
whats the word on the new 6 speed manuals/ ive been hearing that there may be synchro problems.
anyone driving a v10 sd with the manual?
any input will be greatly appreciated.

 

Well, I've only got about 500 miles on mine so far, but a lot of them have been town miles with a lot of shifting. The only time I have experienced anything other than smooth shifts is first thing when tranny lube is cold, but as soon as it is driven a mile or two everything is fine. The main thing I have found so far is you don't want to try to hurry it too much, but that has been my experience with truck transmissions, they weren't made to speed shift.
