'01 pmr or forged???

My build date is 8-19-2000, where is the plug and how do I tell by looking?

No problem. It is not that easy to see in there but it can be done. I used a large socket and breaker bar on the crank rather than trying to bump the starter around to align the rod end for viewing. Good luck.

EDIT: BTW, it just occurred to me. I remember it was a PITA shining a light in that hole while trying to look in at the same time. It's dark in there. I think this can be done far easier during an oil change with a slim penlight shining through the oil drain hole while you look through the inspection hole. Just a thought.

I changed the oil last weekend, wouldn't you know. Untill next oil change I will assume they are forged. Mine was built in Kentucky.

my sticker on the drivers door panel didn't look like that. is there one under the hood?

Driver side valve cover. My truck was built in Kentucky too.

Not tring to make a fuss but my engine build date is 13 july 00 and my truck build date is 03/01 is it possible the engine was swapped i bought the truck used. Do you think I have forged rods?

this weekend i will dig into it i need to do an oil change so i think i will use tenn01psd advice and flash light through drain plug hole for some light i will have my fingers crossed. That sure would make me one happy camper. Thanks

My motor was built in nov '00 and the conoa plant. probably the pmr's.

Do not be so sure. It would appear that the plants simply used whatever forged units they had until the supply was exhausted and then switched or something. You may indeed have the forged units.
