I know, I know...but my truck won't fit in the garage so oil changes in the winter suck. If I can limit the time spent laying on the ground then it'd be worth my $$. I plan on getting the Fumoto valve that NoMo provided a link to. Figure that'll save at least 7 minutes! And then if I could stand up wilst unscrewing my oil filter, that would be even better. Heck, I could then teach my boys (and girls) how to change daddy's oil in the truck! Woohoo!!
Plus remotes give you a bit more fluid capacity plus a bit more filtration efficiency if you go with dual filters, both a good thing!
Check with Summit, Jegs, & JCW for oil filter relocation kits. I know they exist because some F150s & Expeditions used to come with them from the factory. Our '97 Expy has one- the filter is behind the front bumper.
Won't be long before this reference might be unacceptable. I know a large municipal fire dept. that no longer refers to couplings as male and female. 'Internal' and 'external' threaded couplings are the accepted reference.
