New Tranny

So I forgot to post up that I got my new tranny in the trucks and let me be the first to say that if you ride with me, neck braces may be required. The new triple-lok ATS convertor is amazing! The Transgo dash-2 tugger valve body is outstanding, the ATS billet input shaft was added for safety and strength. Im awaiting my ATS trans pan and it'll be all finished. I opted for a new cooler as well. I went with a tru-cool cooler I believe. Its huge! Takes up almost the entire space behind the grille, looks like a small IC, lol. All in all im very pleased with the trans. Now I just need to have BDP re-burn my Dp-Tuner for the new tranny and We'll be all set

Steve,

Sounds great. Did you do the rebuild yourself or have it sent out? I think I could handle replacing the TC, but an input shaft? I'm not sure I could do that.

I bought my truck back in the spring and as I've stated before the previous owner had the tranny rebuilt about 13K miles ago. As I've also stated it shifts pretty hard like you described. Sometimes when shifting into high gear it seems to twice. The high gear description is not really the way I want to describe it but I can't figure out how to say the way it shifts. Being my first F350 and diesel I feel like I need to have a tranny mechanic drive it. But finding one I can trust is my problem!

What is the phone #? He is too far from me so I'm not sure my words are going to give him the info he needs. Anyone know of someone in middle Tn. area?

looks like you got the goodies covered...

my trip disc convertor made all the difference in the world,
after I broke the 5R110 input shaft, we went with billet there also, so you got that covered ...sounds like you got a solid trans if the clutches are all good etc...

not a fan of break neck shifts..., seems like that would be hard on the ujoints, driveline, I like firm, quick, shifts, ....

I know. I need to find a track close to home. I've never been before so we'll see how I do, haha.
