It sounded to me that he was agreeing that his powertrain warranty should be voided but not the rest of the truck warranty.

This thread should be re-named "Personal Responsiblity"

Mod your truck and void warranty : Don't expect FORD to pay , suck it up
Buy a house you can't afford: Don't expect taxpayers to help, Get 3 jobs
Can't afford to have children etc...

Its the new way of thinking in our country : Its allways another persons fault, they should pay for my mistakes.

When good thing happen its: me! me! me!, When Bad things happen its you! you! you!

Stroked162 I am not dumb enough to remove my DPF anyway. I am still skeptical to you even having the truck let alone the problems.

Hopefully bigger/pricyer (if thats a word) probelms don't show up with your 'truck', but like you stated many times in previous threads 'you gotta pay to play' or something along those lines . And post up some pics!

Bingo!

No where did I dispute the loss of my powertrain warranty. I am disputing the atempted loss of my ENTIRE vehicle warranty.

For your info, I have not yet installed the SCT tuner on my truck as I have said before. I am awaiting Spartan Diesel Tunes.

Didn't you get your truck, for a smokin' deal ($38K) from a Ford dealer that a family member owns? Why would your family member turn you in to Ford and flag your truck? Something smells fishy...

I remember reading the same thing, it is odd isin't

Why would'nt they have flaged the truck on the first head gasket issue he had, seems a little odd, not saying its not true but just weird.

I wish I got my truck for 38k, It was more like 43k.

They tried to be cool on the first gasket but they said they couldn't be lax on the second one. I told you guys that when it came to warranty I couldn't get it waived even with the family ties.

Possibly harder to cut someone any slack when whatever they do gets posted all over the internet.

So are you fightin it or what, how can they drop your trans, driveline and rear end warranty, none of which are affected by the exahust. Further more the engine, i could see the exhaust componets or if you'd added a performance mod thats one thing you play you pay, but stright piping the truck is another. Seems like they would have to prove your changes affected the part or parts that failed. Just seems like a argument you would win in litigation.

For a 3year bumper to bumper warranty, and a 5y 100k engine warranty - there is around a $1000 allocated by Ford (as part of a production expense) to each vehicle as expected warranty costs.

How many people do you think would be willing to save 1k to void thier entire warranty?
I modify my vehicles, and I wouldn't.

(not to mention the bad PR by selling a vehicle that consumers would percieve as "not good enough to warranty")

Cowboy Steve - as for your issue, no, they can't black flag your entire vehicle for removing your DPF. But, yes, they can remove your entire powertrain warranty.
