I have a question will ford step up to the plate in 09 with the F150 or 250 that can compete with the Dodge Power Wagon?

Or do they even consider making a 4 wheel drive with real lockers and a winch from the factory?

heh, You're talking about two different trucks. 2008 SD trucks are ugly but getting some crazy reviews. On the converse I've been told by a Dodge employee that the cummins are losing a lot to emissions, and gaining a lot in price.

The half ton fords will soon be competing against the toyota market. My buddy manufactures parts at Federal Mogul and he said Ford is tightening up quality. Somebody my dad works with was working to introduce lean manufacturing to Ford. If they get this up in time you're going to get everything out of Ford you're getting out of Toyota, with american ease of repair, and a diesel option.,

Beware of lean manufacturing in US companies. I work for a vehicle manufacturer here and they started with the concept. They thought that lean manufacturing meant you started by leaning out your workforce. Then you develop a parts as needed program that does not take into consideration that a machine make breakdown, you may decide to increase production without notifying parts, etc. The company did this when they starting paying lower dividends or no dividends to the stockholders. Once they were able to show divivend payments, the lean manufacturing program stopped, the peopled that were leaned out, still gone. And this was in a Union shop.

Notice I said was working to lean... He's now working for a yacht company because he wasn't getting cooperation from middle management. I was pointing out that they are at least acknowledging that it is a possiblity, which is a first for American big business.
