K&N FIPK Warranty Issue?

Just thought I'd post this for everyone's benefit. I recently purchased an FIPK kit for my 250 V10 (which I don't have yet..on order) and I know that using a filter only won't affect your factory warranty but I was curious about the intake. I sent an email to K&N Engineering asking if installation of the FIPK would void my Ford Factory Warranty. The response was that it could void the warranty and that this would be striclty up to Ford. Now I'm half afraid to install the thing until the warranty is up. After I spent 250.00 Anyone else have any experience with this???

K&N FIPK Warranty Issue?

Just save your original parts and put them back if it needs to go back to the dealer.

K&N FIPK Warranty Issue?

Quikirk,
I to have a FIPK on my 2001 and have talked to several service advisors and the answer I got was that if it meaning that the FIPK was not the cause or the installation the cause Example the kit not installed properly or the filter coming loose and sucking air around the seal and ingesting dirt in the engine or the filter becoming damaged in any way where it did not perform the way it was intended then there would be no problems but in this day and time sells are down warranty claims are up I have several reservations about mine also the best advice was give before keep the old setup and if problem does arise reinstall the old unit it is not a time consumeing task takes about 30 min to install one or th other
