EGR Low Volume

I am going to replace my EGR valve, it throws a code low volume. My question is after I take the old one off can I just blow some compressed air up in there where the EGR mounts to clean it out or will I damage something.

You are wasting your money replacing the EGR valve. They rarely fail.

You need to do some diagnostics.

Get your fault code and SEARCH for previous discussions pertaining to it.

Can't move the shaft on the old one, needs to be replaced. If I use compressed air through the EGR hole will it hurt anything...is the question.

Probably will not do anything good. If your intake is set up like the 3.8 Windstar I just did, there are small holes in each runner that lets the ex gasses into. They tend to plug, and blowing air will only shot it out of the unplugged ones. Won't do any good, and can possabley blow chunks into the intake ports.

When you do the valve, I would look hard at bolth the egr tube, and also the DPFE sensor. those are much more common to go bad.
