Of course we'll be serving up the usual fellowship, smiles, handshakes and a peek under the hood (or two or three). As those of you who attended the "DAM" Fine Picnic this past spring know.....this kind of event is what you make it. If you don't show - it doesn't happen. You showed the State -AND- the FTE nation how proud you and the Texas Chapter are of the finest truck on the road by your support and attendance last spring. Can you do it again? It's time Central Texas shows the rest of the state that last spring was not an accident.

FTE Austin (PU): Rumor in the garage has it that something big is set to happen in mid-2008. Sources tell this reporter that organizers meeting in secret have devised a weekend of Ford Truck Enthusiast competition and family fun that will be the biggest thing since Noah broke an axle on his stock trailer! Inside informants claim they have seen plans for some sort of activity which are as big as a football field. Some say the plans include drawings of event venues with dealership and parts house names as well as food courts and kids' activity areas! Sponsors are on line and more are being added every day! Just what can it be we wonder? Some have indicated that hints of the 2008 FTE festival will be quietly (and tenatively) revealed at the next Central Texas FTE Picnic and Sports Party on Saturday, October 20th.

You do not need to live in the Central Texas area to attend!
Membership in the FTE forum is not required, but encouraged. Ownership of a Ford truck is not required (we may talk 'bout ya tho). If you've got a Ford truck - Bring It!

I'm gonna have to take off work, but I'm sooooo in. I'll just bring the dually this time and leave the big truck at home.....alot less to mess with. Can't wait to see yall again. I could care less about football, but I love Ford trucks and that's enough.

 

Hi, guys - here's hoping we can gin up the level of support we had in the Spring! I'll have more updates as we get closer. I'll post them in this message rather than starting a new thread so it might help to subscribe to it if you haven't already. It'll be great to see everyone again!

Uhhhh....JohnTucker - what Tah... Oh!.....the one left by the bass tournament fishermen. Yeah, well - couldn't be helped I suppose.

Duck - dunno - seems like the racer was kinduva rallying point as well as the group's icon. It'd be missed but we understand.

 

yeah...too bad there wasn't any water in Lake Travis last time we were there...lol

 

I posted a copy of the initial announcement in the "Roll Call" thread. Hope to attract those that might be subscribed (37 at last count) to that one and not here.

Any other ideas on where this could be posted? - or is the Texas Chapter enough?

Whattaya Y'All think about adding an informal tailgatin' swap meet to the upcoming picnic? Looking at a couple of msgs on the CenTex Roll Call thread got me ta'thinking (can be dangerous, tho).

 

Clif, The race truck isn't health at this point. We tore it up pretty bad 4th July weekend in Llano. I haven't had time to address it. I've been working on so many other projects it ain't funny. A swap meet.........I don't know, maybe.

 

Duck, it was just a curious passing thought as the term "swap meet" has several connotations. I was thinking the some might have spare/leftover parts they've collected over time they might want to bring with them on an informal basis - in the event someone else could use them.

Certainly not a show-stopper.

 

We were on the same page Clif. I think it's a good idea. But ya never know what some of these shady characters we hang out with will show up peddlin'. LOL Just kidding. I really don't know why I said that, I was a work and who knows where my mind was.

 

Hell yeah I'm in.. me and TNT will be there again :-P Rollin deep and rollin smoke lol
