Slight Haze in Test batch
Ok I made a second test batch with new oil from Walmart
heated oil to about 120F
Added in the methoxide mixture
Agitated the mixture
Let settle for 24 hours
Have dark but very clear what I believe to be glycerin layer at bottom of bottle and a light but slightly hazy settled on top of that. Here is a photo
Smarter folks than I, any thoughts tips etc ?
Thanks

Properties on that pic were: http://www.redrocktitle.com/bio.jpg
Skip it - I rightclicked and hit "SHOW PICTURE". Yes I have dial-up....
Are glass containers available to you? That looks like a plastic bottle, metal cans may be helpful. It looks like temperature may be the issue.
*MAny service stations will give away used twenty to fifty-five gallon barrels just to be rid of them.

Thanks Ill take a look into that although I had A similar issue with the first batch but it was real clear in the mixing bottle but got slightly cloudy when I washed it.
I am thinking about running it through another heat cycle any thoughts ?
By the way the picture its small 34K I took it with the camera phone

Simplified skimming is a natural fore thought....
Some way to peal off the unwanted solids.
Ordinarily the solid fats are on the bottom. That puzzles me. What you have there is above the clear fluid.
I wonder if an aerator could be used to tumble the mixture prior to the settling out stage?

Aerating the freshly mixed bio BEFORE the settling phase would just keep the glycerol suspended, and promote an emulsion.
