Grab Handles

I have a 1999 SD, the passenger side has a grab handle mounted on the A-Pillar but the drivers side does not. Could I just buy a passenger side grab handle and mount it on the drivers side A-Pillar? I assume the A-Pillars would be the same and the handle itself looks like it would be reversible so it could be mounted on either side. My only other question, would the windshield have to be removed to mount it up?

Thanks!

You have to dill and either add weldnuts, or rivnuts to the metal portion of the A pillar, other than that I think it's pretty easy. I believe that this has been done before and there is a thread here with pics if you do a search. If you can't find it post again and I will try to find time to look.
