(If anyone has the park map) I was thinking the Shelter #6 which would put us within boulder tossing distance of the water.
I may try to get a friend to bring his tow-behind grill. According to park officials is OK along the vehicle goes down unhitches then gets back up to the asphalt asap. Gas grills are also fine, although the shelter already has two smaller charcoal grills. The shelter also has water and power.
I can go ahead and reserve it for the 22nd, if we think we can do this....
So we need a head-count and.... food/drink-condiment offerings...
15 or 22 work for us, and if you bump it again to the following weekend, I will just continue to party from the 28 as it is my b-day...
Will advise Go Camping aka Mark... and get him and Carolyn to come out to.

Everyone seems to chime in at the last minute.... I figure everyone is getting kids sent off to school, planning late vacations... and simply waiting for all the dust to clear from summer activities.
Right now I probably have one guest coming....that may change to a "family"
I forgot to mention earlier that there is a 2$ admission fee (PP) or 15y/o and younger free.
Also, Iirc there are special rates for senior citizens and Palmetto pass holders... But I don't have it on me right now...
Your probably right. My oldest is a Senior this year and still has her permit so i get stuck taking her to do her shopping this weekend. At least I'll have a chauffeur.
Checked with Go Camping he will be in Virginia, but you can count on my crew of 6 Trigger. Let me know Rhoda has it on the 'family' calendar...
Have a large gas grill that I can throw on the back of the truck and I also have a large burner with large pot to boil corn.

Me thinks that maybe winter has arrived early and too many have gone into hibernation mode.

I wish I could be there- still stuck in FL. I'll be healing from hernia surgery by then- wish me well. I might make it up between Christmas and New Years- I'm having some trees removed, and need to come up to lay out a path for the driveway. I'll start the New Year with a driveway! I've just about put enough $$$ together to put up a modest barn- maybe we'll have a barn raisin' sometime in '08. I'll gladly feed all helpers...
