Before you try and fix something that aint' broke (reflash) I'd wait and make sure there are no negative consequences to the reflash like lower MPG's etc. There was a reflash available on my 02, but I never got it done, 230,000 miles later I still have no problems

If you have the flame thrower reflash i think you already have the new software.
You can check under the hood right above the radiator and there should be a sticker there indicating if you have had any re-flashes.

My truck was built 02/07 and I have had it since April. Not one issue to this day. I took it in last week to fix the rear view mirror and had them update the computer with the new flash. Truck drives the same as before......great!

Hey bud this is a Ford truck enthusiast forum, doesn’t sound like you are too enthusiastic about giving information that is useful. Sounds like you are a basher. I am a GM person at heart, but this is the Best vehicle I have owned in 40 years. This 450 that I have owned since April has been fantastic. I am enjoying every minute owning the first year, even more than my first Ford SD in 99 so why don’t you go cry and bash on the Chevy or Dodge forum.

I have a Job 1 truck F350 DRW 4X4 4.30LS (built in April) I had my truck reflashed at 4000 miles because of a VERY scary HIGH idle insident. I have driven more than 2000 miles since the reflash. Here are the results I have noticed so far: Smoother shifting, Better Fuel Mileage ( I averaged 10 MPG before the reflash now I am averaging 11.5 MPG whith same driving habbits ) I also started adding the cetane boost to the fuel at the same time, so I don't know if it is the reflash or the cetane or both, but better milage makes me happy. I am happy with the reflash. I just ordered the job 2 airdam and getting it installed tomorrow. I will post if it helps with better MPG

I'm taking my job 1 in this morning for a re-flash and speedo calibration (added 20" wheels). I was a little hesitant about doing the new flash until yesterday. Several times when pulling out my truck would just bogg down when the trans shifted to 2nd. I'd get lots of white/blue smoke. Let up on the throttle and it would clear up and run normally. I hope the flash fixes this.
