Music to Reminisce By

I pretty much listen to country music on a daily basis...Merle Haggard, Toby, Brad,Clint,Reba,Dolly... Etc

However I do have songs and bands that remiind me of friends, family and places from the past!...Diana Ross and the Supremes, Mary Wells, Smokey Robinson, The Platters, Clarence Carter, Johnny Horton and Janis Joplin!...Crazy collection, but not all.

People use music to express what they feel...Use this thread to share what music is important to you.

CCR works for me. Looks like this thread is going over about like the ones I started trying to get someone in the Alaska Chapter to respond. I can do all the ones ya mentioned Mike. Plus Patsy Cline and Hank SR. Luv Janis. Need to download some of hers as I can't find any localy. Never did care for Hendrics much but still do the Moody Blues.

I love all those. CCR is the tops. I also love Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, The Who, Crosby Stills and Nash (sometimes young.. lol), Greatful Dead, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, James Taylor... the list goes on

Newer bands (well maybe not sooo new)

Nirvana, Guns n Roses, Pearl Jam... the list goes on

Great topic Mike. These artists always remind me of a better place in time.

John, you hit right, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Who and a few others. Yes, some of the new stuff as well, even some Godsmack, Disturbed, and some New Ozzy.

Yeah, right on. I dig Godsmack, Disturbed and Ozzy (he's always great but I love his old stuff the best). A really good album is the new Incubus "Light Grenades" album. I am fickle... I listen to country all day sometimes, go to classic, classic rock, oldies, hard core. Heck, sometimes I listen to some rap. Not the "gangsta" stuff mind you, not often though. I still think the best of all time is CCR though.

I loaded up my 80G ipod with a little of everything. A little Classic, little Country, little light rap crap that I can withstand, and a lot of Classic Rock and some Hard Core Rock. Pantera, Faith No More, Sepultura and a few others. A month and half of no commercial music before it replays again.

I had a guy stop by the other day that made me think of you. He was here about 2 hours and had 4 beers open. Being that I was supplying them I went around and collected them, made him sit and drink them and have called him Lostmybeer every sense.

CCR, Moody Blues, Grand Funk, Early KISS, Edgar Winters, Floyd, Led Zepplin, so on and on, a lot of the newer country, but I still need a copy of Tangerine Dreams soundtrack for the movie The Sorcerrer. And let us not forget my Hero Frank Zappa

I didn't say all in the opening of this thread, but The Who is the very best rock band(Tommy), The Guess Who,(These Eyes), and who can forget about Marley, Dylan or Grace Slick and the Airplane (White Rabbit)?...How about Eric Birden and the Animals.

Weren't the Beach Boys, Ventures, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Jan and Dean, Herman's Hermits and the Surfaries also pretty good?

Too many great bands, and not enough time.
