I have a P0453 error code on F150 4.6 - need help

I have a P0453 error code on a diagnostic run. My engine light came on and this is the code I recieved from Auto Zone. They had me replace a EGR unit high input and this did not resolve the problem.

I have found on the Internet that this code my have to do with a fuel pressure sensor or something. Has anyone out there come up with this code? Any help on figuring this one out would be a great help.

Thanks!

I'll venture a guess that the sensor is reporting high pressure in the fuel tank. There are some procedures for testing the valve, but my guess would be to check your fuel cap. They are a pressure-vacuum relief cap that prevents excessive pressure from building in the tank. When this happens the PCM signals or applies ground to the evap valve and it opens applying vacuum thus allowing the vapors to be transported to the throttle body.

Some models employ an OBDII System Monitor. This pressure sensor monitors the pressure in the tank. Another sensor called a purge flow sensor measures the flow of vapors from the cannister to the motor.

Hope this helps more then confuses.

Fuel tank pressure sensor reading (FTP) a high signal to the computer.
It has nothing to do with the EGR.
The FTP circuit is open at some point or the sensor is open.
Good luck.

Please! You do understand there is a fault.
It has to be repaired.
You can't just clear the code.
Clearing or rebooting is not a fix for anything.
Once you clear or reboot, the computer goes right back and looks at the system again and sees the same fault over again.
Good.

Answer?

Did you ever get this fixed? I have a 2012 F150 Ecoboost and I keep getting the same code but only when it is cold out. Works fine all summer but start getting the code in cold weather.

You need to start a new thread in the section specific to your truck. This thread was started over 12 years ago and anything in it won't pertain to your vehicle.
