Just reading the new carcraft build on a 390. .060 over, Edl intake and 600 cfm carb, .484/.510 204/214 cam stock heads made 309 hp through open headers on the dyno, this seem right?
What would it take to hit 400 in a street friendly package?
Is that the 390 build Jay Brown did? There was some chatter on the other forum about it being in Car Craft. 500hp for $5000 type of deal. Hmmm.....looks a little shy if it is.
Which Edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb did they use ? The cam sounds like a typical RV grind. And what heads and compression ratio did it have? If they used a Performer intake and topped it with an Edelbrock carb,with a 9.5 to 1 comp ratio they ended up with a low rpm/high torque engine. What was the torque output ?
