Hey everyone, been looking at dvd/nav units for my truck(99 F250). Crutchfield says double din size don't fit. The local stereo shops say they will. Any of you guys have one in your truck with pics. Thanks
Black04lariat is correct. A double din unit will fit if you trim the 1/8" lip off the top and bottom of the stereo opening (just make it flush with the big opening). I bought a mount kit for a late 90's model explorer and used it. It takes a little modifying but it will work.

99-04 Super Duties all have the same size radio, which as I mentioned before has a slightly smaller height than double din. It is fairly easy to make one fit. I did it in my 99, and others here have done it as well. I will see if I can find a picture of someone elses.
Here is Bucky440's unit installed.
I don't have any pics of my unit installed in my 99 anymore or I would post them.
