Yea. Sounds good. I just rebuit this carb but it's still in sad shape. Bought this truck from a diesel mechanic! Been slowly getting it back in shape.

I hope you get your intake, but we are not allowed to make sales deals in on open forum. I know you guys are new, but I thought I should let you guys know before you guys get in trouble from the admin/mods here.

There is a classified section in FTE, and for future use please us it.

I was going to offer you my 84 intake, but looks like you have it taken care of.
I am planning to pick up another 300 to replace the one in my 84 FSB.

I do not know about 850 hp from a 300 though? I would like to see the dyno sheet. Sounds cool, I really like 300s, they have been around for a long time for a good reason.

Thanks for the info on forum rules. I didn't realize we had crossed any lines. I guess I'm a little confused though. Aren't the classifieds for buying and selling generically? Could you give me an example, using the info in this forum, of how we should have done this? I really am new to this forum thing.
On an other note, so far he hasn't come through with the goods. He never got back to me about shipping and all so I may still be looking for one.
I really like my 300 too. At first I didn,t, I was hung up on haveing an 8 but I'm better now. I't almost an 8 in ci, sucks as much gas as an 8 and is as expensive as an 8 to maintain.

If you look under the FTE banner on the homepage, in the grey bar 4 from the left is the classifieds section. Open and place an ad.
Also you can PM a member on discuss any deals in a personal message. This way your personal info won't be know by everyone on FTE.

I wonder if he can make 850hp?

PM me if you need an intake, I can check mine out if it is any good.

I wonder about that too. If it is possible I can't imagine how much fun that would be. I know I would get into plenty trouble! I have no reason to doubt him. People use to doubt Big Daddy Don Garlits and his claims. If I dont hear from Southern Magic in a week or so I will contact you. Thanks again.

does anyone make an adapter plate to put a 2 or 4bbl carb on the 300, or would I need a new manifold? I can't find an adapter anywhere. And how in the heck do you get 850 horses out of a 300!?

I bought one off Ebay, looks home-made, brass. Labeled on the auction as a 'Stromberg/Ford' adapter... haven't had a chance to slap the 2bbl on and check out how well it works, but it wouldn't take much to do better than the stock 1bbl. I've seen plenty of 3-1bbl intakes, but that's just more trouble... think 3 crappy carbs instead of just one. I'm still toying with the idea of the Offenhauser and 2bbl adaptor, everybody seems happy enough with that setup.

Heh, seems when someone pulls the head off a 300, there's good reason, like a crack, split, RPG hit, something like that. Sign of a good engine design?
