Any trick to removing the front Ford emblem off the grill

How do I remove the front blue oval emblem from the grill? I need to put it in a replacement grill and don't want to break it. Anyone know?

I have an 06 and the emblem got smacked by a rock that then allowed water in the emblem and faded it baby blue. I took it to the dealer b/c it was under warrenty and the guy popped the hood, removed the plastic shroud that is right in front of the powerstroke badge, then went down behind the emblem and popped it out. It took him all of five mins to do this.

so they paid for the emblem to be replaced? If so that is great, I have the same problem on my 06.

yeah they will up to 3yr/36k mile (bumper to bumper). They will also replace the badges on the side if you knock the paint off them to.

There is 2 lock nuts on plastic posts. I removed mine with a socket wrech {forget what size}. You need to pull a couple of the plastic retainers off the shroud in front of the radiator and reach down.

Once you get into it you will see how simple it is. Replacement was about $20.00 at the dealer.

It is easiest to just remove the front grille. Then you don't end up damaging anything..

good luck,
Steven
