Question Decoder

FTE's new decoder claims that my 1965 F250 came from factory with a 4 - 292cid, 153 HP, 3800 RPM engine. Could this be correct ?
Vin # is F25DR602191. My truck has a 352 in it.

====Typo====

D engine code: 352 2V (two barrel). No F100/350 engine offered a 4 barrel carb till 1973. 1973/76 390's came with 2 or 4 barrel carbs. 1973/79 460's all have 4 barrel carbs.

Well then Ford needs to reprint the factory shop manual for 1965 F100 thru 800. And mine are originals not reprints or CDs.

Its not a typo.. I Typed it Verbatum, why i put it zactly as shown.....Surprised me too. Imagine a mistake in the bible.

I just ran F10DE581296 through the decoder. With a build date of August 1964, it says 1964 is my model year. Then because the same engine letter was used in 1964, it says the truck came with a 292ci, (should be 352.) Seems the decoder needs tweaked to look at the unit number too and compare that to the ranges for each model year.

Incorrect data. F10 = always translates to F100 2WD.

1959/1960: F18 is an F100 4WD.

There was no Richmond (CA) assembly plant in 1960. Deemed to small, it was replaced by the new San Jose assembly plant in 1956. The R code was carried over.
21794 is the numerical sequence of assembly for the San Jose assembly plant.

Incorrect data. The serial number says it all.

F10 = F100 2WD

D = 352 2V (D used in 1965 only for 352 engine; Y used 1966/67. 1961/64: C or D = 292 2V Last year for 292 = 1964)

E = Mahwah NJ Assembly Plant

581296 = 1965

>> 1965 serial number range: 580001 - 732000 <<
