Yes I understand how it works. It is just difficult to order the truck committing to a certain price. Then have the risk that the rebate you were counting on disappears before the truck arrives. But that is the risk we take when placing the order. Happily 95% of the time the rebates only get better.
BTW, are you using an X-Plan pin?
I hope to use an X-Plan pin to purchase my truck. Though I don't have one at the moment. I'm planing on looking for one a little closer to my purchase date (deliverly Sep 20th). If anybody can get my an X-Plan pin please PM me. Thanks.

http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?showforum=45 is a section on blueovalforums devoted just for x-plan pin requests. (I hope it's ok I posted that link here? Hope it's not a TOS violation or something)

I made sure I could afford the truck w/ no x-plan, no rebates, and getting the worst deal possible (MSRP + Tax + Fees - Down Payment) before I ordered. I also made sure the dealer wouldn't mind selling the truck to another customer incase something happened and I couldn't purchase it (Had them make up a letter so I had my *** covered lol). My dealer said they didn't mind unless it was a 100% custom vehicle in a "puke color" as he put it.

By the way you can lock rebates from time of order. I've done it multiple times. Salesman can do it on some dealer only website. That way you can play your odds at either time.
What Dealership do you use? If its in the south west I may want to look them up if my dealer won't lock in the rebates on an order.

To lock rebates, ask the salesman. They CAN do it. Be persistant.

I did and he said it is impossible. I assume the standard ford position is not to lock in the rebates. But some dealers might take it on themselves to offer a way to lock in rebates. Probaly by fudging with the dates on paperwork, etc (i.e. filling out the bill of sale before the truck is actually built).

The only way a dealer can lock a rebate, would be to build in a flexible margin. If the rebates hold, they have lost no money. If they decrease... they gain margain. If they increase... they lose money. They have no physical way to do it otherwise.

That's right. All rebates add up to $4500. Check Edmunds.com for current rebates, you'll see all these. I use Wilson Motor Co. Logan, Utah. I thinl they're holding job 2's until these rebates are gone. My truck is 10 days late being released and it still hasn't happened yet. It' a raquet I tell you, a raquet!

The flooding in the midwest might be screwing up transit of these vehicles.

That would be disapointing if the $3000 rebate was only until the job 1 trucks sold out of dealer lots.

Tried trading my 08 f350 three weeks after I bought it because I didn't want the the tow command. Ford told me they couldn't disconnect it but I found a way to do it. Anyways the dealer offered me $7500 less than I paid for it with a 1000 miles on it. I had only got a $1000 rebate. Then they went to $3000 plus I would have got the loyalty of $1000. I would've had to pay an additional 2-3000 more for a truck with a smaller sticker. Lets me know how the dealer works and won't buy there again.
The $3000 rebate started 8/3

Couldn't you have just not used the tow command system, and just keep the same truck?? Maybe I am missing something.

That's what I ended up doing. They reason I was going to trade was that Ford techs said you can't disconnect the tow command. The local trailer company ran a new wire to the plug by the hitch and tied into the blue wire. The tow command still lights up when I start the truck but doesn't function. Hopefully it isn't sending errors anywhere.

The reason I wanted to trade is I didn't want any reason for them to void warranty on anything due to splicing into the tow command. Around here you can't find a truck without tow command.

I know this is off subject, but exactly what did you do ,add another brake control? It is my understanding the Tow Command will not operate Electric over Hydraulic.
