Question 1989 F250 questions

Hey yall new to the site, I just purchased a 89 f250 fourwheel drive with a 400 ci engine. It is a five speed with a bulldog. It has a new front end and engine. I was wondering any paticluar problems with this year/truck and any power ratings avalible. It has 4:10 gears in the rear I am not sure about the front. I am sure the engine is stock other than the straight pipes. Any answers would be more than heplful. Thanls yall

He said it has a new engine. THe 400 is a pretty good engine. Same block as the 460 I believe just different displacement. Try in the engine forum or in the older truck forums since our year pickups didnt have the 400 in them. Not alot of people here might know off hand.

Just so you know buddy, the gears in your front differential are most likely 4:10s also. They better be or your rear wheels are going to spin at a different rate then your front wheels when you put it in 4wd, I'm sure the PO was smarter than that.

The 400 is the same engine as the 351M. Only difference is the stroke, the 400 has a 4" bore and a 4" stroke called a square engine.
Looks somewhat like the 460 but that is about it.
I have a 400 out in the barn if anybody needs one.

Is it fuel injected or carburated? If EFI it's either a 351 or 460. If it has a carb then it's not original and you could have anything in there.
