Reprograming of main computer with a superchip "chip" on board

Hello, I am a new to this mesage board. I have been reading all the post's and learning a lot, but now I have a question regarding my SD.

To start with the truck was bought used with 20K miles on it. After buying the truck, then some diligent searching I found the following mods:

K&N air filter (NOT the FIPK)
Superchips computer chip
Banks power pack
Motion and shock sensor truck alarm (doesn't work)

Oh, she is silver with black nerf bars, black pinstripes, dark tint, and ranch hand grill guard.

OK, now my question:

The truck is my daily driver and is used to tow a 12,000 lbs. boat during the summer. So....during the summer (with all the above modifications) I was using Texaco 87 octane gas with no pinging when towing the boat up hills. Three weeks ago I started to get pinging (without boat in tow), I tried 92 octane gas and still pinging, so I brought the truck in for warranty work. Ford service didn't like that I had the chip and acted like they were doing me a favor by working on it under warranty, anyhow along with a long list of other work performed on the truck they told me they reprogrammed my computer and cleaned the fuel injectors. (have print out of ford service codes of work performed) FINALLY my question is: did they reset or wipe out the settings from the superchips computer chip, thus making the chip worthless now, or can they reprogarm the "Ford" chip and still leave the benefits of the superchip chip. Or is the superchip now worthles. 2nd part, why all of a sudden did my truck start pinging badly, even upon acceleration wihout any boat in tow. Is there something about the V10's that they need fuel injection cleaning regularly?

As in the chip area. My *guess* is they ended up reflashing your chip and you need superchips to update it.

When your gas stations went to winter formulation you probably started pinging. Superchips usually advance the timing. You may not
need premium to go with this timing, but it is a good idea and they
will tell you that you do. With ANY sign of knocking you certainly
need more octane with a chip.

You have some good mods. Get the FPIK so you can get some air
into that banks unless you already have their intake kit.

You might see if anyone will give you some trade in value on that
chip for a microtuner. The microtuner will let you adjust for
different gears or tire sized yourself.
