My last v10 had 210 when I sold it. My dads has just shy of 300k and other than a water pump, spark plugs and intake gasket that one is untouched. Runs like new still.
Look up the million mile van. 5.4 but the engine is the same platform as the 6.8.
With proper maintance you can't kill a v10.

Just bought a 1999 F350 supercab with 204k on it, awesome maintenance records from previous owner. Ran terrible at first but I think it sat for a long time and maybe the gas was bad, I put a fresh tank of gas with a can of seafoam and it got better. Now I am on the 2nd tank of gas and another bottle of seafoam and it runs awesome.

How many miles can one expect to get with proper care? Seems like the more cylinders, if one gets weak it will still have plenty of power..not like a six cylinder for example. How many miles have you seen on people's v10s?? Just curious. I'm thinking about buying one! Kurt

i am curious to see how the new transit engines perform compared to the v8s and v10 in a full sized van. i own a 2v 2001 e350 v10 with 200k and no problems. it purrs like a kitten. Some exhaust studs are gone but it doesnt leak. I did all maintenance when purchased about a yr ago, plugs included. Runs like a top. Tires and oil have been my latest replacement maintenance.

Mine has 121 on it now, bought it in July with 114K. Towed my 5th wheel to Florida with it a few weeks back and I expect this truck to run into the 250K mile range. I work for a Construction Co. and they have many ford trucks (none with diesels after the 6.0 nearly bankrupted them) 5.4 and v10 engines with different abusive drivers with insane idle hours seem to be lasting 225K or so. We do have 1 2000 F150 with a 5.4 it had 385K on it last time I drove it with orig engine, trans, t case and diffs.
